Sorry I've been absent for so long. I can't believe how quick this year has gone. It seemed like not too long ago I signed on for my very first swap, the lunch box swap hosted by Oh Fransson. A month has gone by and now its time to send my lunch box. I recieved my lunch box Monday and was not disappointed.
Its a beautiful hand-knitted, hand-dyed lunch sack. My partner really did a great job. I love it and the color is scruptious.
Here's my contribution.
I hope she likes it. I also filled it with a few goodies I think she'd enjoy.
Here's a pic of our kitty Comet. He's growing like a weed and really loves being outside despite my efforts to make him a house cat only.
All the totes I made to sell for my mom sold. Everyone loved them and now I have more in progress along with a few special orders and keychains. I'm using my beloved charm squares for the keychains. The fabrics are from several different lines but I can only recall one, Woodstock by Benartex. These are easy peasy to make so I'm going do close to 50. This time around I'm only going to make about five bags at a time. No more mass production for me (well except for the keychains).
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that I can actually do something to help my mom. My whole life she has given me and now my kids so much and now I get the chance to pay her back a little. Everything really does come full circle in life.
This is my favorite spot outside. A worn double rocker on our front porch.
Today we celebrated my daughter Carlee's 5th birthday at a park near our home. The morning was stormy but luckily it cleared in time for the party. I had all sorts of plans for handmade goodies (a birthday crown, a new party dress, a fabric banner a homemade cake) however, procrastination and lake of baking skills abolished those. The cakes we made stuck to pan because I let them sit to long. Ca sera, my intentions were good. Things turned out well anyhow and we had a good day.
Carlee is my second child. She is full of life, energy, and plenty of attitude. She's also girly to the bone and loves anything pink. She's is the complete opposite of me (which makes me love her even more) and has this sorta charisma that causes everyone to fall in love with her. She wanted to be a cheerleader when she grows up but recently changed it to a teacher. I'm glad. I can't believe she's five already. Happy Birthday Baby.
A few highlights from the day:
My girls sharing, love it when that happens.
