I am home with a sick little one today (an upset tummy--nothing a little jello and momma love can't ease) so I thought I'd take part in Ginny's Yarn Along. I just discovered her blog, Small Things, and it has quickly become a favorite daily read. Also among my daily reads lately -- The Practical Homestead and Creating Your Backyard Farm -- both great books filled with many ideas on sustainable living. My husband and I (both do-it-yourself-ers by nature) have become focused on finding more ways to live self-sufficiently, within the confines of our subdivision covenants, of course.
My Clover Hill Blanket is coming along, although more slowly than I would like. There's ablsolutely no way it will be complete by St. Patrick's Day but I knew that was an unrealistic deadline anyhow. So far I have 21 of 56 squares completed. I've been sewing in the loose ends as I go so it takes a little longer to complete one square. At least that's enough squares to play with the layout and have a glimpse of what the completed blanket will look like. I'm loving it so far. All those intersecting lines and shades of my favorite colors just make me happy.
My Twisted Trivet giveaway is still going through Sunday March 13 so leave a comment on that post for a chance to win. And don't forget to head over to Ginny's Yarn Along to see what others are reading and yarning.
