Right now I am deep in the funk of the first trimester complete with boughts of morning sickness (which occur all day long by the way) and long periods of sitting on the couch not doing much of anything except feeling sorry for myself and then feeling quilty about not doing anything. I don't remember it being this tough but I suppose pregnancy is designed that way, right? Well, at least I know that this phase will pass soon.
In the meantime, there have been things made and not blogged about. That just won't do...let me catch you up. I finally gathered all my favorite vintage pillowcases and made a quilt! It's actually the first quilt I've ever made.
I've had the idea for this quilt in my head for ages. For the quilt top I used 4 vintage pillowcases cut in half and one piece of vintage sheet in the middle. I used a low-loft cotton batting in the middle and a vintage sheet for the backing.
It's very light weight, perfect for summertime lounging. And I was left with lots of vintage scraps...I think a matching pillow may be in order.
And, before I forget, I need to introduce our new kitten, Beau.
He's a sweet, playful thing and he loves to be cuddled. He fits in our family perfectly and he's bound to show in a photo or two here on the blog.
