What a long week. The flu hit our house this week and it wasn't pretty. My four year old daughter was the one struck down. Its so pitiful to see a little one when they are really sick. She usually is running, jumping, and playing even with a fever, cough, or strep throat but the flu really hit her hard and drained all her energy which I have never seen happen to this fiesty girl. Thank goodness for Tamiflu. After one day she was back in true form.
Also this week, I finally had to admit that I am not superwoman. I'm working on earning an associates degree and for the past year I have been going at it full-time. Going to school, working full-time, and everything that comes with motherhood has really worn me out. I haven't had the time to enjoy anything this year, especially my kids. So I admitted defeat and dropped a few classes and vowed to slow down. It was a suprisingly hard thing to do. I felt like a weight had been lifted but I also felt a little bit like I was giving up or quitting. I don't understand why I was putting so much pressure on myself to do it all. After all, I am only human.
With no homework to do, this weekend I have been enjoying spending time with the family. We (by we I mean the hubby) tilled up the garden in preparation for Good Friday planting. We double the size this this year since the pumpkins took over the whole garden last year.
Wow! Two kids, working fulltime and going to school time! I would have been in the nuthouse a long time ago! Don't look at it like "giving up" or "quitting". A degree is an important thing to have but so is your sanity. I don't know really you but I think your smart to slow things down and enjoy your life. You've only got one:)

Hi Heather! I'm new to the blogging world also. It was so nice of you to stop by my site. I love your big garden. It reminds me of the ones we had as a kid.
