This is one of my most treasured childhood items. Its an apron that my Mom made for me when I was a little girl. My daughter Carlee absolutely adores it as much as I do. She's always asking me about when I was a little girl , if I played the same games as her, if liked drawing as much as she does, or if I liked the same cartoons that she does. I suppose its her way of connecting with me. Well, the fact that she can wear an apron that Mama wore when she was little just makes her day. And who wouldn't want to wear this apron, its so cute. It has a patchwork tie and a sweet little pocket. Here's a closeup of it.
I wish I had a few yards of the pocket fabric. My Mom made us quite a few dresses and a couple of my cheer-leading uniforms. I'll have to share a few more pictures of those one day. She was and still is a very talented seamstress. She even altered my wedding dress and did a great job of it. Anyone who has the confidence to take on a job like that is a hero in my eyes.
Update on my Moms health:
A while back I posted about making totebags to sell and raise money for my Mom's kidney transplant. With bags I sold and lots of generous donations from family and friends, we have raised all the money she needed. My sister and I wanted to be tested to find out if we would be suitable donors. Unfortunately the hospital decided that she should not have a living donor because there is a 50% chance that kidney failure may reoccur because of an underlying condition. This past Friday Mom was put on the donor list. God willing, she will not be waiting too long. Please keep my Mom in your prayers.
What a treasure! I'll keep your mom in my prayers.
