 Last week I order a 'You Are My Sunshine' wall decal from Shanna Murray just before it was discontinued. I was so happy to recieve it in the mail today and I knew just where it would go.

  

Soft Owl Pillow :: Finished!

At last I finished the Soft Owl Pillow from Little Crochet. It's much bigger than I had anticipated, I may have unknowingly strayed from the pattern a bit, but it's still super cute and bigger is better to snuggle with anyway.

My big girls haven't seen it finished yet and I know they'll be a fight over who it will 'belong' to. I've already told them that it will stay in the living-room for everyone to enjoy but I think Molly Jo has already claimed it for herself. Who could say no to that sweet face anyway?

as good as new

Repainting my kitchen chairs and table has been on my to-do list for ages now. With a little inspiration from Sawdust & Embryos and my ThriftyCraftoholic baby sister I finally got the push I needed to see this project through. Many hours of sanding and painting (and one sore arm) later...it turned out better than I could have imagined. The table and chairs were all handed down to me. In fact all of my furniture has been second hand or thifted which means that nothing I have matches. That doesn't bother me at all but it feels great that my kitchen somewhat matches now.

I have to brag about Molly Jo's highchair. I spotted it while out thrifting with my mom and she bought it for me. It was already painted bright yellow but we weren't sure if that paint contained lead. So my dad stripped off all the old paint and repainted it a softer yellow. Not an easy job! He said there were many layers of paint under that bright yellow. Thanks again Daddy! We love it!

I lined the tray and seat with shelf liner to make clean up easier. As you can see, it fits Molly Jo perfectly with room to grow.

 Speaking of my sweet baby girl, she just turned 7 months old. I can hardly believe it! She crawls and pulls up and has two tiny teeth which she uses very well to munch on crackers or whatever she can get in her mouth. She's growing way too fast!

Update on the Great CleanOut of 2012 :: I've made it through my closet and part of my girls' closet and have donated 2 car loads to the triftstore.

in my yarn basket

I haven't been up to much crochet or making lately but at least my yarn stash is being enjoyed by someone. This morning I was going through my yarn basket, that has been sitting under my coffee table for some time now, and found this little hat. I made it during my pregnancy but it was too big for Molly Jo's teeny newborn head. Now it fits just right. The flower is from a pattern in Crochet Adorned.

Summer was full and fun and flew by way too fast. My big kids are all back to school now and I've been on a decluttering mission. Every room, every closet, every drawer is cluttered, cluttered, cluttered and I'm attacking them all -- one day at time, of course. I think I'll call it the Great Clean Out of 2012.
